Rochester Adolescent Maternity Program Event

On March 30th, Rochester Womenade hosted a beer tasting at Rohrbach's to benefit the Rochester Adolescent Maternity Program. RAMP is a community outreach prenatal program for adolescents offering specialized obstetrical care by Strong Health Midwifery Group. Services include case management, individual and group prenatal care, counseling, advocacy, parenting skills training, and financial counseling. This program is based upon a continuity of medical and social work services that start in the prenatal period and may continue after delivery. Visit their website for more information. Rochester Family Mission Event

On December 7th, Rochester Womenade hosted a wine tasting at Table 7 Bistro Lounge to benefit the Rochester Family Mission. The event was held to support the community program offering food, clothing and hygiene supplies, youth activities and educational programs to citizens in the need. Visit their website for more information. All proceeds raised went directly to RFM in addition to winter hats, scarves and gloves for the children the center serves. Cameron Community Ministries Event

On September 21st, Rochester Womenade hosted a happy hour at BRU to benefit the Cameron Community Center. The event was held to support the community center in northwest Rochester which offers emergency meals, clothing and hygiene supplies, youth after-school and summer programs to citizens in need. All proceeds raised went directly to Cameron in addition to boxes of personal hygiene items including shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes and deodorant. Children Awaiting Parents Event

On June 29th, Rochester Womenade hosted a happy hour at Tapas to benefit Children Awaiting Parents (CAP). Over 40 men and women were in attendance to support the national not for profit adoption information and referral service that recruits foster and adoptive families for special needs children. All proceeds raised went directly to CAP in addition to numerous donated totebags and duffel bags for the children to use when they relocate to a new foster home.



Happy Hour to Support CURE

On March 22nd, Rochester Womenade hosted a happy hour at Tapas in support of CURE for Childhood Cancer. Over 25 women were in attendance to support the organization that provides emotional, social, financial and educational assistance to families coping with cancer or chronic blood disorders. The networking event resulted in over $500 raised for CURE as well as an abundance of supplies for hospital care packages.


Mt Hope Family Center Event

Rochester Womenade held a professional networking event on September 28th with all proceeds benefiting the Mt Hope Family Center. Over 25 women attended and donated $700 to support the organization, as well as various arts and crafts supplies to be used by children at the center as part of their after school program. Wegmans generously donated 144 boxes of crayons! Debra Smarsh, Development Director of Mt Hope, spoke at the event and told guests about the Family Emergency Fund, which is where the funds raised at the event will be used.

ABW event a success!

Rochester Womenade kicks off the summer with a networking event at Hawthorne’s Restaurant to support Alternatives for Battered Women…raising over $700 to help women and children in need right here in the Rochester community. Those in attendance included realtors, small-business owners, representatives from some of Rochester’s largest employers including Rochester City Schools, Excellus and Wegmans. Diana McGill, Assistant Executive Director of ABW spoke about what the money would be utilized for and had this to say about the event: “What a wonderful evening. Thank you on behalf of ABW!”

Verizon Wireless enthusiastically sponsored the event. Verizon is well known for their Hopeline program which refurbishes used cell phones to benefit women in need. Many in attendance donated phones at the event as well.

RW's Compeer event.

Rochester Womenade held their debut women-only professional networking event on March 30th with all proceeds benefiting the Compeer Program. Over 25 women attended and donated $625 to support the organization, which locally matches supportive community volunteers with children and adults suffering with mental illness. Dana Frame, Vice President for Compeer, spoke at the event.
